Fund Raising and Events
Home Run project aims to take people who are suffering multiple disadvantage to the Great North Run in September 2018 through a programme of running and fitness.
Training sessions are on a Wednesday evening from 7.30pm until 9pm at the Inspire Centre, Calderdale College and are led by Damian Gibson, the personal trainer there.
It’s a fantastic project which is gaining some real momentum. Get in touch with Craig on 01422 361515 or send email to Craig@calderdalesmartmove.org.uk to get involved.
The project is kindly sponsored by ABS Print UK and The Community Foundation and we have help from Northowram Pumas, Halifax Harriers and Calderdale College where the training is based.
#SLEEP OUT 2018 is coming!
Anyone who has taken part in this event before will know what a fantastic and humbling experience this is. For the last 3 years this event has been a huge success and we are now welcoming supporters to join us for #sleepout2018.
So what happens, well you get a taste of what it is like to be homeless for the night. In November we will be sleeping out at the Shay Stadium in Halifax.
Everyone is welcome as long as you’re above the age of 13. Take part as a group of friends, family, part of a business team building exercise or just come along on your own and join in.
Over the last 3 years we have had groups from across West Yorkshire take part including Bradford College social work students, MP’s, Councillors, businesses, schools, local council departments and many more.
The event is free to enter, all we ask is you do your best to raise as much as you can through sponsorship which can be done online or using the good old fashioned paper method.
For more details please contact Ken on 01422 361515 or email email@example.com
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Aquaspersions Limited who have sponsored the event in recent years. Need a link to their website
Thank you and we hope to see you all at #SleepOut2018
We will also be needing volunteers to help at the event, so get in touch if you can give us some time that night.
